Looking back, I see many of my studies that came into the "truth" were the bottom of their life. Once they recovered from their depression, they bailed as fast as they could!

How Do JWs View Gluttony?

in my county, some of our appointed brothers and sisters are suffering from obesity, eating disorders and heavy drinkings.
what is the best way to approach brothers in charge, who are morbidly overweight, don't care about their physical appearance?

Why don't they preach against this Bible based topic, mention "Ehud, who killed the very fat king!" We could have the "Ehud Class", healthy young men and women. Why don't they preach what the Bible warns against? Fear of losing their fat members?

The Society is moving, bunkering down, going into cash conservation mode, (Protect Precious Capital) moving upstate into their new compound. Selling their building in this environment makes you wonder, what do they know Donald Trump does not? What is their end game, why this consolidation of assets and huge cost cutting, as the Kingdom work is growing and growing beyond their capacity? Demand appears to be dropping for their services, logic would dictate as they cut magazines in half, what next, turn the power off half-way through the meetings, save a few bucks?

"The Message has to be preached even in territories plagued by apathy!" Waste money and time driving in circles, who are they finding to listen to their message, what benefit are they bringing to their new converts? What do they offer, we believed Headquarters received real-time updates from Jehovah but our past proves different. The great revolving door at the Kingdom Hall turns and turns, the new ones in and the older ones out!

by rrb2016 ini remember in the 70's and 80's the big jw career was pin striping...in addition to the regular careers like janitorial and window washing.
now i hear the big career is meter reading in the pacific northwest.
what are some of the other jw careers that are hot in the 2012 and the "end is closer than ever?

Changing the "Blood Doctrine" would stumble a few, saying "higher education is good" would drive the older ones out, bitter they lived in poverty to preach this message. Saying "We don't know where we are in Bible Times, it's might be two thousand years from now!"
Minds are changing in the Kingdom Halls, you might not realize they are, it's a form of gradual mind shifting. We have more kids attending college than I have seen in my life. Friends are not feeling guilty to "attend meetings on vacations", this is new. People are not so convinced their friends in New York have all the answers, "Past Performance Is Indicative of Future Performance!" they don't want to be broke, some have seen how elderly JWs are treated like dirty paper towels, once used and headed for the trash can! Change is possible, it will take decades, be patient!
